The visone software is implemented in the Java programing language and, thus, runs on every operating system (Windows, Linux, Unix, MacOS, ...), provided that the Sun Java Runtime Environment is installed (see below).
The following steps describe how visone is downloaded to and started from your local hard disk.
- Go to the visone download page and save the current version (visone-2.4.jar) to your hard disk,
for instance, to your desktop.
- Execute the file visone-2.4.jar (for Windows users this is most comfortably done by double-clicking on it). The visone window opens and visone is ready for use!
If the visone window does not open and if you get a message similar to "cannot open file: visone-2.4.jar", then it is most likely that the Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is not installed on your computer. In this case, do the following.
- Go to the Sun download page.
- Search in the list for Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) (version 6 or higher) and click on download; follow the instructions.
- Once you have installed the JRE, do as in Step 2.
If you have problems to install visone, please contact
Jürgen Lerner and describe your problem in detail.
